Hyd’s TakeMe2Space secures Rs 5.5 crore in pre-seed funding to launch India’s first AI-laboratory in space | Hyderabad News
Hyderabad: TakeMe2Space, a Hyderabad-based spacetech startup, raised 5.5 crore in a pre-seed round led by Seafund, an alternate investment fund. The round also saw participation from Blume Ventures, Artha Venture Fund, AC Ventures, as well as other marquee angels.
The startup said it plans to use the funds raised towards the launch of MOI-1 – India’s first AI-laboratory in space. The upcoming MOI-1 launch will focus on ensuring that the over 15 early customers for its AI-lab have a smooth experience running their orbital applications, it said.
The company said the funding will help it scale operations, launch in new regions, expand its product portfolio, strengthen R&D, and drive customer acquisition.
Set up in 2024 by Ronak Kumar Samantray, TakeMe2Space is working on redefining satellite applications by addressing data processing challenges directly in space and already successfully completed two space missions in collaboration with ISRO‘s PSLV Orbital Experiment Platform (POEM) where it demonstrated a novel radiation shielding coat.
The startup, which is focused on providing accessible space research opportunities, aims to democratise space exploration by enhancing domestic capabilities in radiation shielding, propulsion systems, and inter-satellite communications.
TakeMe2Space said in the short term its go-to-market strategy would be concentrated on doubling down on adoption of its developed satellite subsystems in India, Australia, and Europe. The startup expanded to a team of over 17 people in the last 12 months and built over 15 satellite sensors and subsystems.

Pointing out that emerging technologies like spacetech have the ability to unlock highly impactful solutions at scale, Seafund Managing Partner Manoj Kumar Agarwal said TakeMe2Space’s upcoming MOI-1 launch will be a game changer towards building data centres in space. “The funding will help the company scale to the next stage and also expand its satellite subsystems on a global level,” he said.
