Hyderabad film cameraman dies by suicide, mother accuses wife of torture | Hyderabad News

HYDERABAD:HYDERABAD: A 35-year-old man, a cameraman by profession, allegedly died by suicide reportedly due to harassment and torture from his wife.
The incident occurred at Krishna Nagar in Hyderabad’s upscale Jubilee Hills area on Monday.
The deceased was identified as Mohammed Nawaz.
According to Nawaz’s mother, his wife Swetha Reddy Thada regularly subjected him to physical abuse, threatened police action, and demanded property shares and substantial money from their family.
The Jubilee Hills police have launched a probe into the matter.
Nawaz, who worked as a cameraman in the film industry, had registered his marriage with Swetha in 2020, after which they settled in Krishna Nagar.
Their relationship was marked by frequent disputes, resulting in several police cases.
Nawaz’s mother, Sabera Begum, stated in her police complaint that due to continuous harassment and property demands, Nawaz had previously fled to her residence in Banswada in Nizamabad district.
The couple returned to the city following police counselling at Banswada.
In her police statement, Sabera Begum claimed that Swetha regularly assaulted Nawaz, hired others to attack him, and made him starve for extended periods.
On Sunday, Nawaz contacted his mother, expressing his inability to endure further torment and indicating suicidal intentions. Despite her encouragement to remain resilient, he was found hanging on Monday.
