HYDERABAD: A Hyderabad court on Friday convicted a teenage boy for sodomizing his six-year-old distant relative in Chilkalguda in April 2023, sentencing him to three years at the Special Home in Gajularamaram while mandating educational and vocational training during his stay.
T Madhavi, the V Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate of Hyderabad, delivered the verdict after examining the survivor’s statement, DNA evidence, medical reports, and witness testimonies.

Assistant Public Prosecutor Anitha Deshmukh presented the case in court, which led to the conviction based on comprehensive evidence including medical reports and witness statements.
The incident occurred when the juvenile offender, who had migrated from Delhi to Hyderabad with his family for livelihood, took the victim to an isolated location near their house while children were playing.
Following the assault, authorities apprehended the teenager and placed him in a juvenile home before proceeding with the trial that concluded with Friday’s verdict.
The case was investigated thoroughly, with law enforcement collecting crucial DNA evidence and medical examination reports that proved instrumental in securing the conviction.
