Hyderabad court convicts 21-year-old youth for raping minor girl |

HYDERABAD: A 21-year-old youngster who raped a minor girl and impregnated her under the promise of marriage was convicted by a Hyderabad court on Tuesday.
T Madhavi V, Addl chief metropolitan magistrate, Hyderabad, directed him to do community service for one year on every second and third Sunday from 10 am to 5 pm, said Additional Public Prosecutor Anitha Deshmukh.
When the case was registered at Narayanaguda police station in 2021, the youngster and the girl were both minors. They got acquainted through social media platforms and entered into a relationship.
The boy, then 17, lured the girl in the name of marriage and raped and impregnated the girl, who was then 16.
After investigation, police filed a chargesheet, following which the court took up the trial.
The court, after examining statements of the girl and other witnesses and also the medical evidence, found him guilty and awarded him punishment.
