Patna: A man in his early 30s, having criminal criminal antecedents, was shot dead in front of his mother late on Monday night in Danapur police station area while he was returning from a wedding ceremony.
The incident occurred on Bhatta Road under Danapur police station area in Patna district.
Police said Chandan Kumar and his mother were returning to his home from a wedding ceremony when they were stopped by two men, and then shot.
Danapur SHO Prashant Kumar Bhardwaj said the deceased was shot in the chest and he died on the spot. “The assailants were known to the deceased. A dispute over transaction of money is the reason behind the murder. Chandan’s mother has recognised them,” said Bhardwaj, adding that Chandan too had criminal background and he was sent to jail earlier.
He said police were carrying out raids to nab the criminals.
