One more held in hooch deaths case

Berhampur: Police on Monday arrested another person in connection with the hooch tragedy at Chikiti in Ganjam district, which claimed two lives.
Around 20 people from several villages in Chikiti fell ill after drinking spurious country liquor on Aug 19.
Purna Chandra Sahu (24) of Maundapur under K Nuagaon police station limits, was arrested for selling spurious country liquor in the village.Three polythene bags with strong smell of spurious liquor were recovered from him, police said.
With this, police have arrested a total of 10 people in connection with the hooch tragedy. Raids are continuing and other accused persons who are on the run would be arrested soon, the police said.
State govt has announced a probe by the revenue divisional commissioner into the incident and asked him to submit a report within two months.

Haryana gang arrested by police in connection with ATM robberies
Anantapur IV town police, along with CCS officers, arrested five individuals from Haryana involved in multiple ATM robberies across the district. The suspects, identified as Robin, Salim, Hukma Khan, Majeed, and Shakir, were apprehended with Rs.2 lakhs, a truck, and mobile phones. Authorities are searching for seven other suspects connected to ATM thefts in various Indian states.
