Honey badger rescued from abandoned well in Gajapati | Bhubaneswar News

Berhampur: A baby honey badger, which fell into an abandoned well at Phasiguda village under Chandragiri forest range of Gajapati district, was rescued by forest and fire department personnel on Friday.
It was treated by local veterinarians and its condition is said to be stable. “It will be under observation for some more days before it is released into the wild,” said S Anand, divisional forest officer (DFO), Paralakhemundi.
The villagers spotted the animal inside the well and informed the forest officers, assuming it to be a wild bear. A forest team reached the spot and with the help of firefighters, the animal was rescued from the 40-feet deep well. TNN
