Heroic Doctors Save Youth’s Life on IndiGo Flight from Bengaluru to Patna | Patna News – Times of India

Docs on board save youth’s life mid-air

Patna: A 20-year-old passenger’s life was saved mid-air by two doctors who happened to be on board an IndiGo flight from Bengaluru to Patna on Monday.
As one Vaibhav, seated on the flight, suddenly became semi-conscious and his hands and legs stiffened, an urgent distress call was made by the flight crew one hour after takeoff. Within moments, two doctors sprang into action. Dr Pankaj Kumar Sinha, assistant professor of nuclear medicine at AIIMS-Patna and gynaecologist Dr Mamta, both on the flight, immediately rushed to the passenger’s aid.
Recognising the severity of the situation, the doctors acted in no time, helping Vaibhav lie down and positioning his head lower to improve blood circulation. Within moments, his breathing returned to normal, and his condition stabilised. “Had he not received immediate medical attention, something serious could have happened,” Dr Sinha said.
The incident occurred on IndiGo flight 6E 463, which took off from Bengaluru at 8.20am. Just an hour into the flight, Vaibhav’s health deteriorated rapidly, causing concern among the crew and passengers. Thanks to the timely intervention of these two compassionate doctors, a potential tragedy was averted.
