Hemgir Tehsildar Labanyendu Mohanty Suspended for Negligence of Duty | Bhubaneswar News

Rourkela: State govt on Friday suspended Labanyendu Mohanty, tehsildar of Hemgir in Sundargarh district, with immediate effect for negligence in duty.
The disciplinary action was taken based on the district collector’s report on the public complaints against the officer. Sources said locals had filed multiple complaints against the tehsildar with the chief minister’s grievance cell and the district collector alleging that Mohanty, who assumed office in Dec last year, was irregular in attendance and often misbehaved with the public.
According to an official order issued by the additional chief secretary, revenue and disaster management department, the suspension has been ordered under Clause (a) of Sub-rule (1) of Rule 12 of OCS (CC&A) Rules, 1962.
During his suspension period, Mohanty has been directed to report to the Sundargarh collectorate. He is required to obtain prior permission from the district collector before leaving the headquarters.
