Headmaster killed as bus hits bike in Ganjam | Bhubaneswar News

Berhampur: The headmaster of an upper primary school died after a bus hit his two-wheeler near Khaithakhandi crossroads in Ganjam district on Wednesday, police said. The deceased was identified as Kuresh Patra (44), a resident of Nuagada. He was the headmaster (in-charge) of the upper primary school at Madhuban in Digapahandi block.
Kuresh, who was staying at Digapahandi, was heading towards the school on his motorcycle when he met with the accident. Locals rushed him to the nearby community health centre (CHC), where doctors declared him dead.
After conducting a post-mortem at MKCG Medical College here, his body was handed over to the family members, police said. “We have seized both the vehicles — the bus and the motorcycle of the deceased — and started an inquiry,” said Prasant Kumar Patra, inspector in-charge, Digapahandi police station. He said the bus driver fled the scene after the accident.
The teacher is survived by his wife and two minor daughters.
