Chennai: Madras high court has directed the Tamil Nadu police to submit details of cases registered against YouTuber TTF Vasan.
Justice D Bharatha Chakravarthy issued the directions recently, while disposing of a petition filed by Vasan seeking directions to issue a passport to him. In his petition, Vasan said he had applied for a passport in 2023, after which he met with an accident while riding his two-wheeler. He was booked by the police for rash driving, and his driving licence was cancelled for 10 years. He stated that his passport application was put on hold without any progress in the process.
When the petition came up for hearing, counsel for Vasan submitted that he needed to travel abroad for film shooting as well as medical treatment, for which the passport is crucial.
However, the Tamil Nadu police submitted that at least four cases were registered against Vasan for rash and negligent driving and added that a similar case was pending against him in Andhra Pradesh too.
Recording the submissions, the judge directed police to submit the details of the cases registered against Vasan and posted the matter on June 2.
