Rourkela: Half-charred body of a missing woman was recovered near a nullah on Thursday under Lahunipada police limits in Sundargarh district. Police suspect that she might have been killed. Her brother has appealed to police for a proper investigation into her death.
The deceased, Phulmani Munda (30), was living with her husband, Turi Munda (43), and two sons aged 11 years and 7 years at Raikelaposh village. Around 3 pm on Wednesday, she went out but did not return. The family members searched for her but could not find her. On Thursday, her family members received information about her body lying near a nullah, about 1 km from her home.
Lahunipada police seized the body and kept it in the morgue at Bonai sub-divisional hospital. “Post-mortem report will reveal the cause of death,” said P Behera, sub-inspector, Lahunipada police station.
