Mumbai: A Gujarat diamond trader was arrested at the city airport on Tuesday for allegedly trying to smuggle loose cut and polished diamonds worth Rs 1.65 crore to Bangkok .
The trader, Riddham Praful Kakadiaya from Surat, was to board a flight to Bangkok when he was intercepted. Officials said that a check of his hand baggage led to recovery of diamonds. Two packets of loose diamonds and three watches studded with diamonds, all worth Rs 1.65 crore were found on him. TNN
