Bhubaneswar: The govt has decided to set up the ‘Centre for Species Survival: Asian Elephant in Odisha’, an initiative aimed at wildlife conservation. The centre will be set up in Godibari, within the Chandaka wildlife division in Bhubaneswar. The International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), Wildlife Trust of India and Columbus Zoo and Aquarium have joined hands with the forest department to bring this vision to life, said official sources. To ensure effective management, a seven-member governing council has been established, led by the PCCF (wildlife) and chief wildlife warden of Odisha.
