Motihari: Unidentified criminals shot dead a schoolteacher, Kuwer Pandey, 35, near Rarhiya village under the Gobindganj police station area on Areraj-Paharpur road on Tuesday while he was returning from Paharpur middle school to Areraj riding his motorcycle. The police found him profusely bleeding on the flank of the road. He was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was declared “brought dead”.The doctors said a bullet had pierced his chest.
SP, East Champaran, Swarn Prabhat, rushed to the spot and after preliminary inquiry, he constituted a special investigation team (SIT), led by Areraj SDPO Ranjan Kumar, to investigate the case. The police sent the body to Sadar Hospital, Motihari, for postmortem. According to police, Pandey was given additional charge of block resource person at Paharpur.
SDPO Ranjan Kumar said, “We are investigating the case from all angles, including the possibility of financial dispute, behind the cause murder.”
