Mumbai: MSRTC chairman Pratap Sarnaik voiced displeasure over employees of the transport body receiving only 56% of their salaries this month and announced that the state finance department has been instructed to disburse the remaining 44% by April 15. Sarnaik, who is also the transport minister, met principal secretary (finance) Saurabh Vijay on Friday afternoon to expedite the matter. Sources said that Rs 120 crore was finally sanctioned by the state govt to clear the pending salaries. “I will be monitoring salary payments from the fifth of every month to ensure that they are credited to the accounts of every staff member, including drivers and conductors, by the seventh of that month,” said Sarnaik. tnn
