Goods worth lakhs destroyed in fire at Bhadrak market | Bhubaneswar News

Balasore: A major fire broke out in the RMC market complex at Salandi bypass in Bhadrak town on Tuesday, causing extensive damage to commercial goods worth lakhs of rupees. The fire spread rapidly, engulfing multiple warehouses and reducing them to ashes.
Sources said the fire originated in a biscuit warehouse owned by Mohammad Abdul Rahim and a plastic goods warehouse owned by Sheikh Ali Khan. It quickly spread to adjacent warehouses, including a chair and a fast-food warehouse. Thick smoke engulfed the area near the second gate of the market, alarming local shopkeepers and residents.
Three fire tenders from the Bhadrak fire brigade were deployed to control the blaze. Despite their efforts, the firefighters were unable to save any good. Two fire personnel sustained injuries while battling the flames.
While a short circuit is suspected to have triggered the fire, officials initiated an investigation into the cause of the fire and are assessing the damages.
RMC president and Bhadrak sub-collector Saurabh Chakravarthy said an investigation is underway to determine the exact cause of fire.
