Goods train trolley derails in Sambalpur

Sambalpur: A trolley of an empty goods train got derailed at Sarla yard in Sambalpur on Tuesday afternoon. The derailment did not affect movement of any other train on Sambalpur-Jharsuguda route, official souces said.
According to reports, the incident took place around 2:30pm on Tuesday while the goods train was going towards the yard for maintenance.Despite moving at a slow speed, one of the empty trolley of the goods train got derailed. Following the incident, the railway officials rushed to spot and swiftly began work to move the train away from the track.
Railway officials informed that the restoration works of the track was completed shortly after the incident.
Additional DRM Anand Singh, said,”It is the area where testing of train takes place. Train comes here for routine examinations. One trolley of a wagon has been derailed. We will enquiry how the it got derailed.”

East Coast Railway’s DRM, HS Bajwa, confirmed that one wagon was re-railed and efforts were ongoing for the second. Train traffic remained unaffected. Previous derailments were reported in West Bengal and Uttar Pradesh earlier in the month.
