BENGALURU: A discarded suitcase found near Chandapura railway bridge on Wednesday afternoon carried a bone-chilling story of a murder with no clues about the victim. Passersby, who thought the blue trolley had simply fallen off a moving train, were left numb when they spotted a girl’s face peeping through a tear in the bag’s zipper!
The girl’s body was stuffed into the suitcase before being dumped near the railway tracks in south Bengaluru. The identity of the girl, aged around 18 years, is yet to be ascertained. Suryanagar police have registered a case of murder and are investigating.According to police, the girl is suspected to have been strangled to death. There are no injuries on her body. There is no ID proof, either. Her photos have been circulated to all police stations across the city.Ragpickers tried to open suitcase, fled after seeing body A senior police officer said they received information around noon from a passerby about the woman’s face visible from a suitcase near the bridge. Cops found a blue suitcase just metres from the bridge.Initially, police said, ragpickers found the suitcase and tried to pick it up for any valuables. The minute they saw the woman’s face, they ran away from the spot. After some time, a passerby saw the suitcase, went near it, and found the face. He immediately alerted police.Based on primary investigations, a senior officer said they suspect someone travelling on a train pushed the suitcase out from Chandapura bridge early Wednesday. The trolley rolled down for a few metres before coming to a halt. Railway police said since the trolley was not on the railway track, they did not take up the case.
