Bhubaneswar: The capital city is gearing up for Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations on Sep 7, with community puja pandals, educational institutes, and housing societies busy making arrangements for the festival.
Idol makers are adding final touches to their creations. According to sources, they are mostly using environmentally friendly and innovative designs.
“Depending on size and design, idol makers are charging Rs 2,000 or more for Ganesh idols.Traditional designs remain highly in demand, as usual. This year, the administration has mandated no experimental designs for Ganesh idols,” said Manoj Maharana, an idol-maker. Apart from the twin cities, sprawling puja pandals, grand decorations and cultural programmes will be held at Jatnai town, about 20 km from the capital city. TNN
