From seeing snakes to death: Common dreams and what they mean as per Hinduism

In Hinduism, dreams are often seen as a reflection of one’s thoughts, both good and bad. Not only this, dreams are also often seen as messages from our departed souls or ‘angels’, who simply visit us to bless us in this life. Dreams can also indicate good and bad omens, and sometimes can have deeper meanings that the human mind cannot decipher… Here’s decoding some common dreams and their meanings, as per Hinduism….
Snakes
Like it is with all dreams, seeing snakes also opens the doors to both positive and negative connotations. It is said that seeing snakes is often an indication of impending troubles, and enemies that can attack you any time. On the other hand, there are some positive interpretations of the same, too. It is said that catching a snake symbolises victory over those enemies. It can also signify healing and inner wisdom.
Death
Dreaming of death might be a harrowing experience for many, but it is usually a positive sign. If you dream of yourself dying, it usually signifies the end of something that was taking up a lot of your energy, and clears the path for something new. It could also mean a significant life change, such as marriage, baby or a new job. If you dream of someone else’s death, it could mean that you are worried for their well-being and safety.
Baby
Seeing a baby in dreams could have myriad meanings. It is said that while most baby dreams signify innocence and love, some might be unsettling too. For example, a crying baby might mean that you will soon be faced with some disappointments in life, especially your love life. If you see a baby trying to walk, it shows your strength of character.
Water
A key element of life, dreams about water are mostly positive in nature. If you see some water spilling, it means that you will soon get more than what you had bargained for. On the other hand, if you lend money to someone, and you see yourself drinking water in your dream, it means that you will get that money back. Walking on water symbolises unparalleled success.
Horse
An important symbol in Hinduism, most horse dreams are positive omens in life. If you are riding a horse, it means life is smooth sailing for you, at least for now. On the other hand, if you are galloping, it means that the troubles of life won’t affect you much, and you will speed past them.

Tree
If you see a lush green tree in your dreams, it means that you are content in life. However, if you see a sapling, it means there is some unhappiness coming your way. It is said that a yellow tree signifies an imminent sickness in the family. If you are seen plucking fruits from a tree, it means you will get some inheritance soon.

Elephant
If you see an elephant in your dream, it can signify great success, strength and prosperity. On the other hand, seeing a lion suggests honor, power and fame.
