Four Die of Lightning Strikes in State in Past 24 Hours | Patna News – Times of India


Patna: At least four people died of lightning strikes in various parts of the state in the past 24 hours, reports Manoj Chaurasia.
The deaths were reported from Bhagalpur, Darbhanga, East Champaran and Nawada districts, according to the chief minister’s office on Wednesday.
CM Nitish Kumar expressed grief over the loss of lives in the lightning strikes and announced Rs 4 lakh ex gratia for the kin of each deceased.
The CM advised the people to be careful during the inclement weather and follow the instructions issued by the disaster management department from time to time to save themselves from lightning strikes. He advised people to remain at home during bad weather.
Last week, at least eight people had died after being struck by lightning in six districts.
