Four arrested for theft in Keonjhar | Bhubaneswar News

Keonjhar: Four men were arrested and remanded to judicial custody on Tuesday for a house theft in Naranpur village under Town police limits in Keonjhar district. The accused, Prashant, Mithun, Chinmay and Shubham Behera, allegedly broke into the house and stole two welding machines and household items around midnight on May 11.The incident took place when the house owner, Narayan Sahu, was away. The theft came to light when Sahu’s mason noticed signs of unauthorised entry. A police complaint was lodged on May 12. “Our team immediately launched an investigation with the help of forensic experts,” said IIC, Town police station, Srikanta Sahu.The suspects were arrested around 7:30 am on May 13. Police seized an auto-rickshaw used in the crime and four mobile phones. The two stolen welding machines and household equipment were recovered. During interrogation, it was revealed that Mithun had a history of stealing water pumps and bike parts. “We are investigating their possible involvement in other criminal activities in the area,” the IIC added.
