Former municipal chairman shot dead in Purnia | Patna News – Times of India


Patna: Awadhesh Yadav (45), former chairman of Kasba Municipal Council in Purnia district, was shot dead by bike-borne criminals near his house on Wednesday. He succumbed to his bullet injuries during treatment at a private hospital.
A policeman said that Yadav was strolling near his house in Kasba police station area, when the criminals opened fire on him and fled, brandishing their weapons.
Purnia superintendent of police (SP) Upendra Nath Verma reached the hospital and talked to the family members.
Kasba additional SHO Ayush Kumar said the incident took place around 8.30 pm. “The family members have not mentioned about any enmity of his or dispute with anyone.”
