Foreigner nabbed in Bengaluru, crystal meth found hidden in cornflakes in her bag

Bengaluru: The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence arrested a foreigner and seized 4.2kg of crystal methamphetamine valued at Rs 8.5 crore from her.
DRI Bengaluru zonal unit sleuths apprehended the woman near a forested area in Electronics City. They searched her duffel bag and found two packets of cornflakes, concealed within which was 4.2kg of the white crystalline substance.
Upon testing with a field kit, the substance tested positive for the presence of methamphetamine. The narcotic substance was seized and the woman arrested under provisions of NDPS Act 1985. She was also found to be overstaying in the country, sleuths said.
The drive at Electronics City is part of DRI’s efforts to dismantle the illegal inter-state trade network in narcotic substances.
