19 pvt FM radio channels to come up in six towns

Bhubaneswar: The cabinet approved roll-out of 19 private FM radio channels in six towns . The stations have been approved for Puri, Bhadrak, Balasore, Baripada, Berhampur and Sambalpur. The stations are among 730 FM radio channels approved by the Centre focusing on aspirational districts, LWE-affected areas, and border districts. This move aims to boost local content, create employment, and bolster govt outreach.The proposal includes an annual license fee of 4% of gross revenue for new cities. TNN
