Fisherman: Fisherman killed in dynamite blast in Deogarh district | Bhubaneswar News


Sambalpur: A 46-year-old fisherman was allegedly killed in a dynamite blast in Deogarh district on Tuesday. Two other fishermen escaped unhurt.
Sources said three fishermen went to Rengali dam on Tuesday afternoon. While they were trying to catch fish by dynamite blast, a bomb exploded before it fell in the water, capsizing their boat. Khyamanidhi Dhibar from Asanali village died on the spot, while the other two fishermen, of Bhalumunda village, swam to the shore.They went to Bhulkabahal and informed residents.
Fire services officials, after getting information, reached the site and retrieved Dhibar’s body.
Jagyanseni Pradhan, IIC of Barkote police station, said, “Dyamite blast is suspected to have caused the death. However, the actual cause can be ascertained only after we receive the post-mortem report.”TNN
