Berhampur: A fire broke out in the seminar hall of the medicine ward in MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur on Tuesday, due to a suspected short circuit in the AC unit.
There was no major damage reported in the incident, while security guards and attendants controlled the fire by using extinguishers, sources said. No one was present in the room.
“We rushed there and immediately extinguished the fire,” said a security guard. The situation is now under control. “The expert team will investigate the incident,” said Suchitra Dash, superintendent of MKCG.
