Fire: Fire breaks out in Koraput government hospital SNCU, no injuries reported | Bhubaneswar News


Koraput: A fire broke out in the special newborn care unit (SNCU) of Maternal and Child Health Centre at SLN Medical College and Hospital (SLNMCH) here on Friday. No injuries or casualties were reported, and the fire was swiftly brought under control, authorities said.
The fire was caused by a short-circuit, the authorities said. Hospital staff and security guards responded quickly to the emergency, successfully moving all 42 babies in SNCU to safer locations, including the dialysis ward and the ICU in the main building, said Susanta Kumar Sahu, superintendent of of the medical college and hospital.
Necessary equipment required for the newborns was also transferred.As a precautionary measure, pregnant women in the adjacent ward were also relocated.
