Hyderabad: A father-daughter died, while another sustained injuries, when the car in which they were travelling in rammed a lorry on the national highway in Nirmal district on Sunday.The deceased were identified as B Shankar (42) and his daughter, B Kruthika, an engineering student. The injured was identified as Vilas (50).The incident occurred while they were on their way home to Adilabad from Hyderabad. According to police, Shankar had picked up his daughter — who was in her third year of engineering in Hyderabad — and started their journey back home.At around 3:50 am, as they were passing through Nilai Peta village under Nirmal rural police station, a truck ahead of them suddenly slowed down near a curve on the highway.As a result, the driver, Vilas, lost control of the car and rammed the truck from the rear. While the father-daughter duo died on the spot, the driver escaped with minor injuries, said G Limbadri, Sub-Inspector, Nirmal rural police station. Police officials registered a case against the lorry driver and started an investigation.
