Fatal Truck Accident in Barh, Patna | Patna News – Times of India
Patna: A 24-year-old youth was mowed down by a speeding truck on Patna-Mokama four-lane road in Barh subdivision of Patna district on Thursday, triggering a protest by the local residents.
Placing with the body on the road, the local residents staged a protest, demanded compensation for the family of the deceased, identified as Anurag Kumar, a resident of Hasanchak Ward 11, and arrest of the accused truck driver.
On getting information, Barh police reached the spot and pacified the protesters, assuring them of all possible help to the bereaved family.
Barh station house officer Pradeep Kumar said the 24-year-old used to work in a private company in Patna.
“The incident took place between 6am and 7am, when Anurag was on his way to work. He was walking towards the railway station, when a speeding truck hit him and he died on the spot. After the incident, the driver fled from the spot with his vehicle. The local residents informed the police. We are examining the CCTV camera footage of nearby areas to identify the vehicle,” he said.
