Fake engine oil unit busted, 2 brothers arrested | Bhubaneswar News

Rourkela: Acting on a tip-off, police on Sunday busted a duplicate engine oil unit at Zeenat colony in Bisra area and arrested two brothers who were operating the unit. Police are further investigating the case.
The police team conducted the raid in a two-storeyed building and found the oil unit was operating in three rooms of the house. During the raid, huge quantities of empty bottles and duplicate stickers of big brands were found. Duplicate labels were also found there. The arrested brothers were identified as Abdul Manan (63) and Md. Miraj (51).
Police questioned them and police came to know that the two were collecting burnt engine oil from various vehicle repairing shops in huge quantities and were keeping the same in their fake unit. The same burnt engine oil was being put in bottles and after putting labels and stickers, they were being supplied to different places.
Police have seized more than 5,000 empty bottles, 4,000 lt of burnt engine oil in drums and a car and scooty from them. Police have sealed the fake unit.
“We are further investigating the case,” Ambit Mohanty, Panposh SDPO, said.
