‘Expect rainfall in north, dry days in south Bihar’ | Patna News – Times of India



Patna: Residents in northern Bihar districts may experience isolated rainfall over the next two days while southern districts, including Patna, are likely to remain dry, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).The IMD has issued a yellow alert for thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds (30-40kmph) in most northern districts on Tuesday and Wednesday. These include West and East Champaran, Sheohar, Sitamarhi, Madhubani, Supaul, Araria, Kishanganj, Madhepura, Purnia, Katihar, Saharsa, Bhagalpur and Banka on Tuesday and all except Saharsa, Bhagalpur, and Banka on Wednesday.Patna is expected to record temperatures between 32-34°C on Tuesday, rising to 34-36°C from Wednesday. On Monday, the capital logged a high of 34.9°C and a low of 27.8°C.Buxar recorded the highest maximum temperature in the state at 37.4°C while Kishanganj saw the lowest minimum at 23.2°C. Temperatures across Bihar remained below 40°C. However, an increase of 2-4°C in daytime temperatures is anticipated over the next five days, with minimal changes in minimum temperatures.Several districts received light to moderate rainfall on Monday. Purnia recorded 17.6mm, Katihar 31mm, Rajgir 10mm, Gaya 3.6mm, Supaul 1.8mm, Madhepura and Araria 1.5mm each and Dehri 0.2 mm.
