Ensure timely distribution of seeds and fertilizer: DM to officials | Patna News – Times of India

Motihari: East Champaran district magistrate (DM) Saurabh Jorwal on Wednesday, while addressing the agriculture task force meeting, asked the officials to ensure timely distribution of seeds and fertilizer in each blocks and gave clear instructions to maintain transparency in supply to control black marketing.He directed the officials to conduct regular raids in the India-Nepal border areas of the district.Manish Kumar Singh, district agriculture officer (DAO), said that the seed distribution is operational for Kharif-2025, and that there is adequate availability of fertilizer in the district. “Till now, a total of 39 godowns of dealers have been raided, and cases have been lodged against two, licenses of four suspended and four were issued show-cause notice,” he said.He added that the target has been achieved in natural farming in the district. Along with this, guidelines were given for the construction of Vermi compost units. The process of cluster-based vermin peat manufacture will be started through farmers as soon as the online portal concerned opens. Singh said that target of horticulture schemes has been achieved in the district for crops like like figs, ginger, turmeric, banana and coconut. Now the process of taking online applications from farmers is being started.The DM directed the officials that all the applications received should be disposed of on time and as a rule.
