Patna: Patna district magistrate (DM) Chandrashekher Singh and senior superintendent of police (SSP) Rajiv Mishra on Saturday reviewed the law and order, security and traffic arrangements for the upcoming winter session of the Bihar legislative assembly, scheduled to take place from November 25 to 29.
“As per security protocol, three-layer safety arrangement has been ensured for the place. Besides supervision through CCTV cameras, eight quick response teams will also be active. All the deputed magistrates and police officers have been asked to arrive at 9am on the first day of the assembly session and henceforth, should occupy their respective positions an hour before the beginning of the assembly sittings on each day. The deputed officers have also been directed to leave their positions only after the proceedings of the day are over,” the DM said.
The DM and SSP said no unauthorised entry should be allowed within the assembly premises. “If anything of the sort happens, it would be the entire responsibility of the officers positioned there. No person or vehicle without required papers should be allowed entry within the secretariat, Vidhan Sabha and Vidhan Parishad areas,” the DM said. Personnel stationed in the Vidhan Sabha control room were directed to work in proper coordination and ensure strict adherence to the directions.
To bolster security, the DM said, “Prohibitory orders, as per norms and under required sections of the law, will also be imposed in and around the Vidhan Sabha areas as a precautionary measure.”
He also asked additional district magistrate (law and order) Rajiv Roshan to ensure that all officials concerned, including magistrates and police officers, are fully acquainted with the instructions for maintaining law and order during the session.
