Cuttack: Govt-run Bhubanananda Orissa School of Engineering (BOSE) has partnered with Mercedes-Benz India to introduce an Advanced Diploma in Automotive Mechatronics (ADAM). A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed by BOSE and Mercedes-Benz India in this regard on Friday.
The year-long programme aims to equip students with cutting-edge skills in automotive technology and help them get proper placements in the future.
BOSE becomes the first institution in eastern India to offer the course, which blends theory and practical learning, said an official.
“The collaboration is a milestone for BOSE, allowing us to provide world-class training in automotive mechatronics to our students and bridge the industry-academia gap, the inaugural batch is set to start in 2025-26,” said Hrushikesh Mohanty, principal of BOSE.
The course is meticulously designed to address the growing demand for expertise in electric mobility, automation, and intelligent vehicle systems. Students will benefit from state-of-the-art diagnostic tools and training methodology aligned with global automotive standards
The curriculum includes automotive electronics, hydraulics, diagnostics, engine systems, and vehicle software, with hands-on training using Mercedes-Benz vehicles and tools.
“Eligible candidates with a diploma or degree in mechanical, electrical, electronics, or automobile engineering can apply for the course. The partnership is expected to elevate technical education in the region, paving the way for future collaborations in industry-ready skill development,” added Mohanty.
“The ADAM programme is part of Mercedes-Benz India’s commitment to nurturing talent and preparing a workforce equipped with modern automotive skills,” said Shekhar Bhide, vice-president of customer services at Mercedes-Benz India.
“We are confident that the initiative will open new avenues for technical education and employment,” he added.
