Encounter breaks out between forces and terrorists in J&K’s Doda | India News – Times of India

NEW DELHI: An encounter broke out between security forces and terrorists in the Doda district of Jammu & Kashmir.
The exchange of fires in Doda comes at a time when security forces are carrying out intensive hunt-down operations in the wake of the Kathua terrorist attack in which five soldiers were killed.
Five Army personnel lost their lives and an equal number were injured when heavily armed terrorists hurled a grenade and opened indiscriminate firing on two Army vehicles at around 3.30 pm on Monday.
The search for the terrorists resumed on Tuesday morning with joint search parties of the Army, police and CRPF. The track-down operation was suspended Monday evening due to heavy rains.
Officials have said the Army’s elite para-commandos and sniffer dogs joined the search operation while drones and helicopters were also pressed into service for surveillance.
