Elephant herd wreaks havoc in Ganjam village | Bhubaneswar News
Berhampur: A herd of 24 elephants, including a newborn calf, caused widespread damage in Birikote village near Bhanjanagar, Ganjam district, on Sunday night, triggering panic among local residents.The elephants damaged the wall and kitchen room of an upper primary school, reportedly in search of stored rice meant for mid-day meals. A private residence in an isolated location under the Muzagarh forest range was also damaged. Forest officials are currently monitoring the elephants, which are moving towards the Sarapada and Langalakhol areas near Birikote.
