Bhubaneswar: East Coast Railway (ECoR) added a total of 281.5 km of new lines and multi-track projects in FY 2024-25, marking a 50% increase over the previous financial year’s achievement of 187.2 km, officials said.
The completed projects included the Sonepur-Purunakatak section (73.16 km) of the Khurda Road-Balangir new line, the Laxmipur Road-Singaram-Tikiri stretch (22.94 km) of the Koraput-Singapur Road (Rayagada) doubling project, and the Dantewada-Kamlur section and Bacheloi-Kirandul section, a total stretch of 23.64 km of the Kirandul-Jagdalpur doubling project.
Other commissioned projects are the Dhenkanal-Sadashivpur-Hindol Road, a 40.62 km stretch of the Budhapank-Salegaon third and fourth line project, the Darliput-Girapur (12.65 km) section of the Kottavalasa-Koraput doubling project, and the Ranital junction cabin-Bhadrak (5 km) stretch of the Bhadrak-Nergundi third line project.
Apart from this, the Samal-Parabil (6.53 km) section of the Talcher-Bimalagarh new line, the Suku-Koraput (11.16 km) stretch of the Kottavalasa-Koraput doubling project, the Hindol Road-Meramundali (27.28 km) section, and four other projects have also been completed, official sources said.
