Mumbai: The Malwani police have arrested two men for slashing a person with a knife, and assaulting a policewoman when she intervened. The incident occurred in the intervening night between Tuesday and Wednesday. The police constable, Amruta Gosavi, is now stable.
The prime accused runs a vada pav stall. He was drinking at a bar on Tuesday night when he got into a dispute with one of the patrons. The accused and his associate got on a motorcycle and chased the patron after he left the bar on his two-wheeler. Both motorcycles came to a halt close to a nakabandi set up by the Malwani Police. The prime accused was carrying a small knife in his pocket and slashed the patron on his chest.
When the police team carrying out the nakabandi intervened, the accused and his associate started to manhandle them and injured constable Gosavi.
