Bhubaneswar: The city police on Sunday said in August, four cases of attempt to sell brown sugar were registered by team-60, formed under ‘operation white spider’. Nine drug peddlers were arrested with seizure of 55.80gm of brown sugar and Rs 33,300 of cash. Between January and August, 74 drug peddlers have been arrested with seizure of 598gm of drug. tnn

Chhattisgarh Home Minister Vijay Sharma vowed tougher measures against drug peddlers under the ‘ek yuddh, nashe ke viruddh’ campaign, targeting the entire supply chain while treating consumers as victims. Authorities plan to seize properties of those caught in drug trading.
