Berhampur: Body of a 22-year-old car driver was found near the railway tracks at Haladiapadar under Golanthara police station limits near here on Tuesday evening.
The deceased was identified as Dillip Kumar Das of Bendalia. Police have registered a murder case and detained three persons, including his brother-in-law, for interrogation.
A father of two girls, Dillip was staying in his father-in-law’s house for the last six months at Haladiapadar along with his wife.
In a complaint lodged with Golanthara police, his father, Rajendra Das, alleged that his son might have been killed by his in-laws and dumped near the railway tracks. “There was an injury mark on his neck,” he alleged.
Police said the Dilip’s in-laws found him lying near the tracks at Haladiapadar on Tuesday evening. They took him to his village for cremation. After getting information, police went to the village, recovered the body, and sent it to MKCG Medical College here for post-mortem. His autopsy was conducted on Wednesday.
