BENGALURU: The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) has seized narcotics worth Rs 38.8 crore at Kempegowda International Airport (KIA).
A Ghanaian woman, who arrived from Qatar, was arrested after officials discovered 3 kg of high-purity cocaine in her possession.
According to sources, the woman was intercepted based on intelligence inputs. Upon detailed inspection of her luggage and personal belongings, the contraband was found concealed inside.
She was immediately taken into custody for further investigation.
Authorities are now probing her background, including potential links to international drug cartels operating through transit hubs.
The DRI is also investigating whether she had accomplices or was part of a larger smuggling network.
