Dombivli man falls to death from packed train

Thane: In yet another incident related to overcrowding in local trains during peak hours, a 30-year-old man from Dombivli died after falling between Kopar and Diva railway stations while travelling in a fast local train on Thursday.
The deceased was identified as Rupesh Ravindra Gujar, a resident of Tukaram Nagar.
According to the GRP, Gujar worked in a private company in Thane. Like every day, he took a fast local from Dombivli to go to Thane around 8 am. It was packed Gujar was hanging on to the door when he lost his balance and fell from the train.
Senior police inspector Kiran Undre of the GRP in Dombivli said their team reached the spot on receiving information about the incident and took Gujar to the Shastri Nagar Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
Many passengers travelling from Dombivli have died after falling from the train due to crowding. Now, the passengers’ association has once again demanded that the railway administration take appropriate steps to prevent such accidents.
