Chennai: DMK organisation secretary R S Bharathi has flayed AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami for criticising the cabinet reshuffle, alleging that the opposition leader was dragging AIADMK into an abyss.
Hitting back at EPS for stating the resignation of V Senthilbalaji and K Ponmudy was a sign of DMK govt’s fall, Bharathi asked whether there was no cabinet shuffle during AIADMK govt.

“Why was then AIADMK IT minister Manikandan sacked from the post? Why was Balakrishna Reddy dropped from the cabinet,” he asked. He alleged that Manikandan was removed from the ministry to accommodate Udumalai Radhakrishnan in the post.
Bharathi said the countdown for the fall of EPS and AIADMK has begun.
“Usually, political leaders’ priority would be to safeguard the party even if they lose an election. But EPS has pawned his party to safeguard himself and his relatives from Enforcement Directorate, CBI and income tax dept,” Bharathi said, referring to AIADMK’s alliance with BJP. Bharathi asked if EPS had ever won an election after he took up the leadership position in AIADMK.
“EPS, who has ruined AIADMK and set a record in tasting failures, is dragging AIADMK towards a deep fall,” he said.
EPS has no moral authority to speak about the resignation of Senthilbalaji and Ponmudy, he said.
Chennai: DMK has convened its district secretaries meeting here on May 3. A statement from DMK general secretary Duraimurugan on Monday said the meeting on ‘party development work’ to be chaired by party president M K Stalin will be conducted at Kalaignar Arangam in Anna Arivalayam. “All district secretaries should participate in the meeting,” the statement said.
