Bhubaneswar: Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Monday took part in Bahuda Yatra of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra at the Hauz Khas Jagannath Temple in New Delhi on Monday. He was accompanied by his wife Mridula Pradhan.
“Rath Yatra and Bahuda Yatra are unique festivals of Odia culture. Bahuda Yatra symbolizes the homecoming of the gods after nine days’ sojourn.The Jagannath Temple at Hauz Khas has been an epitome of Odisha’s culture and identity over the years. I feel very fortunate to be a part of the grand event,” Pradhan said.
“This year’s Rath Yatra is unique as the BJP formed the govt in Odisha. The four gates of Jagannath Temple, which are associated with the devotion and belief of devotees, have been reopened. Showing respect to the emotions for the deities, the BJP govt of Mohan Majhi opened Ratna Bhandar on Sunday. I pray to the Lord to fulfil the dream of a developed Odisha and developed Bharat,” he added.
