Detailed project reports are being prepared for the Mahanadi-Godavari and Subarnarekha-Mahanadi river linking projects in Odisha under national river linking projects, the CM said in response to another question by MLA Dhruba Charan Sahoo (BJD). The Mahanadi-Godavari project aims to connect the rivers Rushikulya, Vansadhara, and Nagavali with Godavari through Mahanadi. A feasibility report was prepared by the National Water Development Agency (NWDA) after conducting a hydrological study. However, the Odisha govt has expressed concerns regarding the quantity of water in Mahanadi and its environmental impact, as per their hydrological study. The NWDA is proceeding with the preparation of a Detailed Project Report (DPR). TNN
