Bhubaneswar: BJP’s Talsara MLA Bhabani Shankar Bhoi is all set to become deputy speaker in Odisha assembly. Bhoi is the only MLA to have filed nomination for the post making his election almost certain.
Bhoi was first elected to state assembly in 2019 on a BJP ticket from Talsara. The 44-year-old politician belongs to Jamuna in Sundargarh district. He filed the nomination in the presence of chief minister Mohan Charan Majhi, two deputy chief ministers, ministers and MLAs.
Bhoi, who is a tribal leader, has been actively involved in BJP’s activities in Sundargarh district. He has been working for welfare of tribals and raising their issues in the assembly. His elevation to the post of deputy speaker is being viewed as a recognition of his work and contribution to the party.
