Deputy CM slams Tejas for ‘threatening’ govt officials | Patna News – Times of India

Patna: Deputy CM Vijay Kumar Sinha on Sunday cautioned leader of opposition in state assembly Tejashwi Prasad Yadav against making open threats to the Saran district administration officials, a day after Yadav allegedly asked them not to work under pressure, stating, “power keeps changing”. Sinha also urged Tejashwi to maintain the gravity of his position as the leader of opposition.
The deputy CM, who is also a senior BJP functionary, responded to Tejashwi’s remarks made during a meeting with the family members of a youth killed in post-poll violence in Saran.Tejashwi expressed annoyance over the role of the police in the case, noting that some of the accused persons in the murder case are still absconding. He said, “I urge the officials in the district administration not to work under any pressure since power comes changing. We too can come to power one day, and if that happens we will seek full account of the incident.”
The incident in question took place on May 21, shortly after the polling in Saran, where Tejashwi’s sister Rohni Acharya had contested elections against BJP’s Rajiv Pratap Rudy, losing by a small margin of just over 13,000 votes. One person was killed, and two others sustained gun-shot injuries in a violent clash between the supporters of RJD and BJP.
In response to Tejashwi’s statement, Sinha advised him to maintain the dignity of his position and refrain from issuing threats to officials. He challenged Tejashwi to provide any proof of slackness on the part of officials within 24 hours.
