Chhapra: Deputy CM Samrat Choudhary would inaugurate the month-long Harihar Kshetra Sonepur fair on Wednesday at a function organised in the pandal of the tourism department.
Deputy CM, Vijay Kumar Sinha, would be the chief guest on the occasion while Sumit Kumar Singh, science and technology minister and in charge of Saran district, would preside over the function.
Talking to mediapersons on Tuesday, Saran DM Aman Samir said for seamless movement of vehicles and proper security, 40 drop gates and 380 CCTV cameras have been installed at different places, besides arrangements for river patrolling have also been made.
He said arrangements have been made for the devotees to take holy dip in the Ganga.
The entire fair area has been divided into four sectors to maintain sanitation, and agencies engaged to maintain cleanliness during the fair.
The DM further said to maintain law and order, 21 temporary police stations and nine watchtowers have been set up. He said facilities have also made for the treatment of cattle.
Speaking at the press conference, Saran SP Kumar Ashish said a nodal officer of the rank of DSP, over 120 police officers and 600 constables have been deployed for maintaining security at the fair.
To manage the traffic well, 10 additional traffic posts, manned by 20 police officers, and 40 cops have been deployed.
